The Importance of working together
Posted onAnother great week at Banded Peak! Thank you to all those who were able to attend our Collaborative Conferences on Wednesday and Thursday night. This is an important time to celebrate our students' achievements and growth, problem solve, discuss next steps and work together to ensure future successes. This communication and collaboration is vital in creating the space for students to be successful. As a collective, I often talk to students about the importance of failing forward and reminding them that they can do hard things. In order to learn, one must make mistakes or push themselves out of their comfort zone and do hard things. This involves risk taking, trust in oneself and others and a commitment to applying the lessons of our mistakes so that growth happens. This is hard work; it demands effort, discipline and a "I'll try" or "not yet" attitude. Every student in our building can do this and have personal success. Having conversations with your child about these ideas is important and if things "come to light" be sure to share with their teacher and our team. Together, as a team, we continue to work to support our students in their learning journey.
I am happy to report we will be returning to forest play during recess and back 40 learning next week. No cougar visits for past 10 days!
