Welcome to Banded Peak School!

At Banded Peak, we are proud to be part of Rocky View Schools, where the Education Plan: Focus on the Future guides our work in helping every student grow and succeed. Our school is committed to improving literacy and numeracy, preparing students for their futures, and creating an inclusive, engaging, and healthy learning environment for all.
This year, we are focusing on:
- Strengthening literacy and numeracy through thoughtful use of data and explicit instruction, building student confidence as writers and mathematicians.
- Encouraging students to explore, engage, and experience a wide range of curricular-related careers, inspiring curiosity and future possibilities.
- Continuing the implementation of our Reach for the Peak matrix and PBIS framework to nurture a safe, caring, and inclusive school community.
Community is at the heart of Banded Peak. Through our cross-graded Buddies partnerships and House system, students build meaningful connections across grades and learn the value of belonging. Acts of service—large and small—empower our students to make a difference in our school, our community, and our world. Our CommunITea initiative further strengthens trust, connection, and community with our First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students and their families, ensuring that every learner feels seen, valued, and supported.
Leadership opportunities are woven throughout our classes, and senior students who are passionate about leadership can further develop their skills by joining BP’s Westside Leadership. These opportunities allow students to contribute meaningfully and build skills that will benefit them for life.
We are also committed to reconciliation and learning from the land. Weekly Open Smudge and place-based learning experiences provide students with opportunities to connect with nature and understand their role in caring for it. These connections foster a deeper appreciation for the environment, promoting stewardship and sustainability. Engaging with the land helps students develop a sense of belonging and responsibility toward their community and natural surroundings, enriching both their learning and their personal growth.
Together, these commitments reflect who we are as a school: a caring, inclusive, and forward-focused learning community. At Banded Peak, we believe every student has unique strengths to share, and we take pride in celebrating their growth, achievements, and contributions.
We look forward to another wonderful year of learning, connection, and community together.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Jody Moore (Principal) and Mr. Richard Dupre (Assistant Principal)
