Magic at the Market
Posted onThis year's Winter Market was a Winter Wonderland. As my first experience, it was beyond my expectations and I was extremely proud of the work that students and staff did to make it such a magical event. From the student performances to the market, the talent and creativity of our students was showcased and I have received so many accolades on their behalf. Congratulations to them all. Perhaps the most magical part of last night for me was the sense of community that I felt as we all came together in celebration of our amazing kids. Last night our Banded Peak Community filled the back of my pick up truck with food donations that were delivered to the Airdrie Food Bank this morning. Check out the photos of our donations weighing 722 lbs. The generosity continued with donations of coats, mittens, scarves, etc for children in need. Thank you for empowering your children to make a difference and thank you for modeling the importance of giving to those not as fortunate as ourselves. Our students learn from our example and the love and warmth that this community continues to share helps to mould a shared belief in community and the values of kindness, gratitude and care. Thank you!
Thank you to the the subcommittee, Kelsey Wicktor-Neumeister, Jill Winters, Craig Churchill, and Janelle Fortmueller. This small but mighty team is an organizational powerhouse and have spent countless hours working to ensure that every detail is planned for and attended to for the event. However, I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the passion and commitment of the entire Banded Peak staff in making this such a magical event. This school celebration requires everyone to get involved and lean in. Thank you all for your tireless effort, commitment and care in providing exceptional experiences for our students.
This upcoming week will be full of learning and seasonal fun. Please be sure to look at the week's overview as we will be having spirit days all week long. Additionally, daily carolling will be happening so students should be able to share their holiday songs with you each night. Also, I am excited to share that over the Christmas break our grade 1/2 classrooms will be undergoing some renovations. Work in this area will begin on Friday; thus, these three classes will be working out of different spaces Thursday afternoon and Friday. This will not disrupt learning or planned activities just a short term adjustment to facilitate the work. Overall, another busy week at Banded Peak leading to the holiday break.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone,
Mrs Moore
PS - Congratulations to our Jr A Boys Basketball team on winning their first two games of the season vs Bearspaw and Indus. We are off to a great start Grizzlies!
