Growth, Kindness and Adventures

It’s been an exciting and eventful time at Banded Peak, and I’m thrilled to share some of the highlights with you.
On Monday, we welcomed students back from their short February break with a presentation by magician Steve Harmer and Motivational Magic. The theme of the show was Kindness and Gratitude, and it was an exceptional way to kick off our PBIS Reach for the Peak matrix while echoing the important message of Anti-bullying and kindness. Pink Shirt Day on Wednesday was a great success, with everyone coming together to stand up against bullying by wearing their pink shirts!
This week has also been amazing for our 3/4 students who had the opportunity to experience Outdoor School. They’ve been having a fantastic time connecting with nature, and I can't wait to join them next week for some cross-country skiing! This experience has not only allowed them to bond with nature but also grow in their understanding of the world around them. It’s been such a rewarding experience for all of them.
Additionally, our last class of 7/8 students attended SAIT to explore virtual reality and dive into 3D printing. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to get exposure to these exciting technologies, opening doors for their future growth in an ever-evolving world!
Our Jr. B basketball teams' practices have also begun, and the teams are gearing up for their first tournament next Friday — Go GRIZZLIES! As they train and develop, they’re learning more than just the game—they’re growing in teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship.
Finally, Banded Peak School Staff would like to thank our parent community for all the goodies the baked for us on Wednesday. Everything was delicious and it truly is appreciated (see picture below).
It has been a fantastic week filled with exciting opportunities and growth for our students—thank you to everyone for your support and kindness.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Mr. Dupre
