Breaking on a High Note

This week was fast and furious! Thank you to our leadership students for all their hard work in planning and facilitating the week's fun! It has be EGGcellent! There has been no shortage of Egg races, Egg Hunts, Egg decorating, and the halls on Wednesday were full of rabbit ears everywhere. Tuesday our student athletes continued to perform well and I am proud to say WON our third Divisional Banner this year! Congratulations to the Badminton team on winning the 1A Divisional Championship Title! Well done Grizzlies! Wednesday after school some of our Indigenous students and their families met to continue work on their Ribbon skirts and shirts. From colour to design to sewing, our students are learning life skills that will serve them well in the future. The creations, although not completed, are beautiful and I can't wait to see what they look like when they are done! Well done to all involved. Thanks to all those parents who were able to join us at our monthly School Council meeting. Your input and contributions are essential to the success of our learning community. Please put May 20th on your calendar as it is our school council's AGM at 6:30pm. And today, we ended our week with our Annual Talent Show. Our incredible student performers lit up the stage with talent, creativity, and passion during this year’s show! From soulful singing, to classical piano to "Eye of the Tiger" recorder rendition to an original poetry reading to jaw-dropping drumming, each act showcased the amazing skills and hard work of our talented students. We’re so proud of every participant for their courage and dedication—thank you for sharing your talents with us and making this a rocking event!
When we return after Spring Break, students will be back at it right away with the Student Vote happening on Monday as well as the 5/6 students off to Calgary City Hall to watch National Geographic Live. Wednesday, April 30, is photo day for any students who have not had their photos taken, all teams and clubs as well as kindergarten celebration photos, and grade 8 Farewell photos. To be clear this is not a retake day! Mrs Dzeryk will call students down as needed throughout the morning. Friday our grade 1-4 students will be having a Farm/Bike Safety presentation and the Spring Dance for grade 5-8 students (see the poster below).
Have a wonderful Spring Break everyone and Happy Easter,
Mrs Moore
