And We're Back!

We had an incredible first week back from the break here at Banded Peak School, and the energy and enthusiasm from both students and staff set a powerful tone for the remainder of the school year.
Our Grade 5/6 students had the exciting opportunity to extend their learning beyond the classroom with an off-site educational trip to Arts Commons and City Hall. This experience brought curriculum to life and offered valuable insights into the arts and civic engagement—an unforgettable highlight for all involved.
Meanwhile, students in Grades 4 through 8 participated in the OurSCHOOL survey, providing us with thoughtful and meaningful feedback. This input plays a critical role in shaping our ongoing planning and ensuring our school continues to meet the needs of our learners.
Our younger students in Grades 1 to 4 had a special visit from a guest speaker who delivered an engaging and important presentation on safety. Judging by the enthusiastic reactions and lively discussions afterward, it’s clear the session was a hit!
On Tuesday, we came together as a school community for a school-wide Accountability Assembly, where we officially launched the final component of our PEAK PBIS Matrix. Following the assembly, the entire school population participated in our Helping Hands clean-up initiative. With gloves on and smiles wide, students and staff worked hard to refresh our school grounds—it now looks better than ever thanks to their amazing efforts!
Not to be left out, our kindergarten students had picture day this week, and their bright, joyful smiles were contagious. Watching them beam as a group truly put a huge smile on my face!
Tonight, our Grade 5-8 students are preparing for a very exciting event: the upcoming Spring Formal Dance! This much-anticipated event is sure to be a highlight of the spring season and provides a wonderful opportunity for students to celebrate together.
We’re also thrilled to share that Banded Peak School has fully rolled out our PEAK PBIS Matrix, and we’re already seeing its positive impact throughout the school community. Centered around Positive Environments, Accountability, and Kindness, the PEAK Matrix is guiding student behavior and helping shape a culture grounded in respect, growth, and belonging.
From classrooms to hallways, and playgrounds to buses, students are rising to the challenge—demonstrating responsibility for their learning, kindness to their peers, and commitment to creating a positive and inclusive environment. We’re incredibly proud of how quickly PEAK has become embedded in our daily language and actions.
Here’s to the incredible momentum we’ve built this week—and all that’s still to come!
