A Celebration of Community and Learning

What an incredible week we’ve had here at Banded Peak School! Our students have been busy exploring, building, creating, and learning in and beyond the classroom. Our Grade 1/2 students had two exciting hands-on learning days — one spent wet felting and the other constructing birdhouses. These activities blended creativity with learning in math and nature, and the students had a blast!

Our Grade 3/4 students enjoyed an unforgettable week at Outdoor School, where they embraced the beautiful weather and extended their learning into nature with engaging bike rides and interactive lessons. A huge thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate their learning at the Rewild 2025 Celebration of Learning on Friday — what a turnout! Special thanks to our incredible Grade 3/4 teachers for creating such a memorable experience.

Our Grade 5/6 students also ventured outside today to take their learning beyond the classroom, and they’ll continue this outdoor learning every Friday until the end of the school year. Grade 6 students completed their first Provincial Achievement Test (PAT) on Wednesday, and we are all so proud of their preparation and confidence in their writing. Well done, Grade 6s!

The Grade 7/8 students had a packed week, including a fantastic introduction to rugby with a guest presenter. They were highly engaged and excited to learn a new sport. On Friday, they also held a Celebration of Learning in the student gathering area, showcasing their Land Use Projects. You could truly feel their passion and pride in the work they presented. In addition, some of our 7/8 students competed in the Track and Field Zones, delivering amazing performances and holding their own against students from much larger schools. Congratulations to our track athletes on a phenomenal season!

A big round of applause to our Banded Peak Band for their outstanding performance at WestFest today. They played beautifully and represented our school with pride and class — congratulations to all of our band members! We also wrapped up our final Commun-I-Tea of the year this week. Thank you to all the families who joined us throughout the school year to share in the learning and community-building.

A heartfelt thank you to all the parents who volunteered this week. Your time, energy, and support make these kinds of rich, hands-on experiences possible. We truly appreciate everything you do. We are so lucky to have such an amazing and supportive community here at Banded Peak

Looking ahead, we’re excited to host our annual Walkathon next Friday! All students will gather in the gym at 10:30 a.m. for a brief presentation — parents are welcome to attend the presentation — and the Walkathon will officially begin at 11:00 a.m., continuing until the end of the school day. We are still in need of volunteers to help make this event a success. If you are able to help out, please click the link below to sign up. The form also includes more details about the event, so be sure to take a look. Lunch will be provided during the Walkathon, and we are pleased to offer options for those with dietary restrictions, including gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian choices. Just let the volunteers serving lunch know your needs, and they will be happy to accommodate.

Have a fantastic weekend! It’s hard to believe we are already welcoming June, but we look forward to all the amazing learning and experiences our final month of the school year will bring.
